Monk strap shoes are men's dress shoes that do not have laces. Instead, monk strap shoes or buckle shoes are secured with a strap and buckle closure, known as the monk strap. Monks are also known as monk loafers. Sometimes, the buckle detail on the monk loafers is only ornamental, a millennial adaptation of the traditional monk strap shoes.
